Since its founding in 2005 as a 501c3 nonprofit organization, Manhattan Charter School (MCS) has consistently achieved high levels of success. In 2012, MCS opened Manhattan Charter School 2 (MCS2), a replication of MCS located a few blocks away, expanding on the groundwork laid by MCS and bringing high levels of academic achievement to more students.

Position Summary:
The Enrollment Specialist ensures a smooth, equitable, and compliant enrollment process for all students and families. This role manages the full enrollment cycle—from offer through registration—while building positive relationships with families and ensuring that all enrollment data and records are accurate, timely, and compliant with state, local, and authorizer requirements. The Enrollment Specialist is both detail-oriented and family-centered, helping to ensure that every student has access to high-quality educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Family Engagement & Outreach:
- Leads the schools' community canvassing efforts to increase student enrollment and awareness of the school and connect directly with prospective families.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective families throughout the enrollment process.
- Support and coordinate outreach activities such as open houses, school tours, community events, and information sessions.
- Provide clear, responsive, and culturally competent communication to families inquiring about enrollment.
Application, Lottery, & Registration Management:
- Manage applications using the enrollment management system (PowerSchool and ATS).
- Support the execution of the annual admissions lottery in full compliance with authorizer and state regulations.
- Lead communication in collaboration with the Network Admissions team through the seat offer process, ensuring families receive timely and accurate communication.
- Collect, review, and process all required registration documents (proof of residence, immunizations, records, etc.).
Data Management & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate enrollment data and documentation in compliance with state, local, and authorizer requirements.
- Generate regular reports on enrollment progress, projections, and trends for school and network leadership.
- Monitor student attrition and support re-enrollment campaigns to ensure student retention goals are met.
Collaboration & School Support:
- Partner with school-based operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new students.
- Support family orientation and welcome events to build strong school-family relationships.
- Assist with network-wide enrollment projects and initiatives as needed.
- Partner with school leaders and the operations team to ensure smooth handoffs from admissions to student registration and onboarding.
- Support family orientation events and onboarding activities for new students.
- Assist in special projects related to enrollment, recruitment, and retention as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in admissions, student recruitment, customer service, or a related field preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and enrollment management systems
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English or other relevant language) required.
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the charter school network.

Compensation
$50,000 - $70,000 per year
