Engineering Technician I

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, you will perform a combination of engineering technical duties with a high degree of accuracy in areas such as Test Configuration, Test Execution, Measurement, and Calibration to support the development of fluid (hydraulic and pneumatic) components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Test Configuration: Set up engineering-defined tests for fluid components and assemblies (Valves, Pumps, Motors, etc.) following internal verbal instructions, written procedures, and industry test method standards such as MIL-STD-810/DO-160. Utilize instrumentation like pressure and temperature gauges, flow meters, oscilloscopes, accelerometers, torque meters, tachometers, and computer data acquisition systems.
• Test Execution: Conduct engineering-defined tests on fluid components and assemblies, ensuring test requirements are met. Monitor inputs, evaluate outputs, interpret results, and maintain accurate test records.
• Measurement: Perform measurements on fluid components and assemblies to determine defined physical and functional characteristics, including size, weight, hardness, density, flow, pressure, temperature, power, torque, and acceleration.
• Calibration: Ensure proper calibration of equipment to appropriate standards and maintain records for all utilized test instrumentation. Calibrate internal instruments and coordinate external calibration resources.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience, trade or military training, or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, and procedures. Perform basic mathematical calculations and assemble basic fluid flow circuits using piping, hoses, fittings, tanks, and gauging.
• Proficiency in using a computer and standard Microsoft software products, including Excel.
• Prior experience in data acquisition is a plus.
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

This is a salaried non-exempt position with a salary range of ***K – ***K and a 5% bonus. Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this position.
