Client Details
Our client is a leading bio‑based chemical manufacturer specializing in the production of oleochemicals, including fatty acids, glycerin, and related specialty chemical products. They operate a large‑scale industrial processing facility that supports North American customers across markets such as personal care, food, pharmaceuticals, industrial manufacturing, and consumer goods.
Description
This Engineering Manager will:
- Lead and mentor a team of five engineers in a fast‑paced industrial setting
- Oversee capital projects, project managers, budgeting, scheduling, and long‑term engineering planning
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to support reliability and plant performance
- Drive process improvements, equipment optimization, and infrastructure upgrades
- Maintain engineering documentation including drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
- Provide leadership oversight to the safety team (not a hands‑on EH&S role)
- Support audits, assessments, and operational reviews as needed
- Partner with the VP of Operations to align engineering initiatives with site goals
Profile
A successful Engineering Manager candidate will have:
- 10+ years of industrial engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership
- Background in industrial or continuous‑operation environments
- Experience managing capital projects from concept through commissioning
- Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred - but not required with strong experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills
- Ability to operate in a large industrial facility and drive plant‑wide engineering initiatives
