Engineering Intern

Position Overview:

RIZZO International, Inc. is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to join our corporate office team for the summer, located in Pittsburgh, PA. This intern will aid field and design tasks as directed by supervisors within budget and prepare drawings and initial drafts of reports to all the standards and procedures of the corporation. They will also be responsible for completing assigned project tasks generally involving field and office analytical responsibilities under the direction of management and project leadership.

Scope of Position:

• Perform data reduction
• Assist senior staff with analytics, design review, field work, and development of technical reports
• Participation in field investigations
• Preparation and checking of calculations
• Preparation and checking of design drawings and figures
• Preparation of draft report sections
• Assist in Performance Analysis
• Assist in QC support of deliverables
• Assist in Work Plan preparation
• Perform any and all duties as assigned by supervisor
• Domestic and international travel, when necessary
• Engineering Intern is responsible for performing activities in accordance with the QHSE Manual and other procedures applicable to the project

Position Skills & Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in a B.S. or B.A. program in engineering or related field
• In-depth knowledge of technical discipline
• Computer skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be available to work in office 32-40 hours per week for a minimum 10-week commitment from June to August
