Senior Systems Engineer – Occupant Sensing

Epitec is seeking to support a leading automotive OEM by hiring a Senior Systems Engineer – Occupant Sensing to act as the technical owner for advanced vehicle sensing features. This role drives system?level clarity and coherence across hardware, software, algorithms, and validation teams.

? Responsibilities

• Own Occupant Sensing features from requirements through validation
• Decompose feature?level requirements into system and algorithm specifications
• Drive system architecture, data flows, state machines, and fault strategies
• Perform requirements analysis, system architecture, and feature development
• Review and challenge design decisions to ensure system robustness
• Support diagnostics, vehicle network integration, and debugging
• Work within the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) development process

? Required Skills

• Automotive Systems / Feature Engineering experience
• Requirements tools: DOORS or Polarion
• Architecture tools: Enterprise Architect or Rhapsody
• Vehicle networks & diagnostics:
  • CAN, CAN?FD, LIN, SENT
  • UDS (ISO 14229)
• Hands?on tools: Vector CANoe / CANalyzer, oscilloscopes
• Understanding of vehicle network topology, HW schematics, OTA
• Structured problem solving (5 Whys, Fishbone)
