Job SummaryThe Engineer II, Operations Engineering will support and execute productivity, analytics, and optimization initiatives across Medline’s distribution network. This role is part of an Operations Engineering team focused on KPI driven performance improvement, including labor productivity, slotting optimization, WMS execution logic, and branch level operational support.
The Engineer II will work under the guidance of senior engineers while independently leading smaller initiatives and analyses. This position emphasizes hands on analytics, structured problem solving, and close partnership with Distribution Center operations to translate engineering insights into measurable performance improvements.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute productivity improvement initiatives impacting KPIs such as Lines Per Hour (LPH), labor efficiency, cost per unit, and service performance.
- Perform engineering and analytical work to support performance diagnostics, variance analysis, and root‑cause identification.
- Execute branch‑level slotting activities (case and repack) including data analysis, reslot planning, and post‑implementation KPI tracking.
- Support Warehouse Management System (WMS) execution through analysis of pick paths, work logic, parameters, and configuration impacts.
- Assist with KPI reviews, operational diagnostics, and PDCA‑based improvement plans in partnership with branch leadership.
- Support new business and go‑live readiness activities including slotting preparation, labor modeling support, and post‑go‑live stabilization analysis.
- Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Operations, IT, and BI teams to support cross‑functional initiatives.
- Contribute to documentation, standard work, and repeatable analytics that improve execution consistency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial / Operations engineering, General Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in distribution, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience working with operational data.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and smaller projects with guidance and direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan / Catalyst) and/or Labor Management Systems.
- Proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of SQL or data analytics tools preferred.
- Exposure to productivity engineering, slotting, or operational performance analysis.
- Distribution center or operations support experience.
Travel & Work Environment
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to support branch initiatives and go‑lives.
- Ability to work within a warehouse environment, including standing and walking for extended periods when onsite.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$85,000.00 - $128,000.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
