Engineer I, II, or III
Asplundh Engineering Services (MSSC) is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineers (Level I, II, or III) to design Electrical Distribution projects. Engineering level classification is based on prior relevant experience.
This position is responsible for delivering safe, accurate, and technically sound designs that align with customer standards. The selected candidate will develop expertise in Duke Energy systems to produce construction-ready job plans. While initial supervision and guidance will be provided, this role requires a self-driven individual capable of independently managing workload after training.
An accredited engineering degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
Position Levels & Requirements
Engineer I
Qualifications:
ABET-accredited Engineering degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license
Prior field experience preferred
Compensation:
$26 – $33 per hour
Engineer II
Qualifications:
ABET-accredited Engineering degree or PE license
Minimum 3+ years of applicable experience
Compensation:
$34 – $40 per hour
Engineer III
Qualifications:
ABET-accredited Engineering degree or PE license
Minimum 6+ years of applicable experience
Compensation:
Salary based on experience
Key Responsibilities (All Levels)
Maintain a safe working environment at all times, both in the office and in the field
Gather and analyze field and technical data to deliver turnkey design solutions
Develop and implement cost-effective designs in accordance with customer standards
Coordinate permitting requirements with cities and municipalities as needed
Collaborate with construction crews to resolve design questions and support project completion
Perform field work as required to support design development
Communicate effectively with peers to support large, customer-driven projects
Manage time efficiently to meet company benchmarks and avoid construction delays
Assist in training and mentoring team members (as experience allows)
Additional Requirements
- CAD experience (AutoCAD or MicroStation) is a plus, but not required
