EMR, Training Specialist III | IT- Informatics and Education

Develops and delivers comprehensive training programs focused on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic medical record (EMR) systems and related software applications. Designs curriculum and training materials, selecting appropriate delivery methods, and conducting effective training sessions to enhance end-user proficiency. Develops documentation for both custom and packaged applications and establishes metrics to evaluate training effectiveness. Manages training projects independently, coaching junior training staff, overseeing vendor partnerships, and supporting broader IT talent development initiatives to drive functional excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs curriculum and training materials, selecting appropriate delivery methods
• Facilitates effective training sessions to enhance end-user proficiency
• Develops and maintains documentation for custom and packaged applications
• Establishes and tracks metrics to evaluate training effectiveness
• Manages training projects independently and mentors junior training staff
• Oversees vendor partnerships and supports IT training and talent development initiatives

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus three (3) years of relevant work experience required. An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing comprehensive EMR training programs
• Expertise in curriculum design, delivery methods, and training evaluation
• Proven ability to manage training projects and mentor junior staff
• Experience collaborating with vendors and supporting IT talent development initiatives
• Strong documentation skills and experience developing training metrics

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Epic Principal Trainer status
• Application Curriculum Certification
• Training Environment Build Certification

Certifications must be obtained within six (6) months of hire or transfer into the role.
