Core Responsibilities for Elementary Teacher Jobs

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction to elementary students in a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to a range of abilities, learning styles, and cultural backgrounds.

• Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments and use data to inform and differentiate instruction.

• Promote positive classroom management and foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and high expectations.

Qualifications Needed for Certified Teacher Positions

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.

• Current, valid New York State Teaching Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) or comparable elementary certification, or eligibility for reciprocity is preferred.

• Proven success or student teaching experience in an elementary classroom, with a commitment to instructional excellence.

• Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy and math instruction, as well as differentiation techniques.

• Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, equitable, and culturally affirming classroom environments.

• Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

• Adaptability and initiative in meeting the needs of diverse learners.

• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflection.

• Passion for shaping educational outcomes for elementary students in urban communities.
