JOB SUMMARY:
 
The Senior Electronics Technician uses advanced skills and tools along with extensive working knowledge of defined standard operating procedures to complete assignments. They receive minimal supervision of work processes and provide instruction to less experienced technicians. They use their experience to determine the best methods and develop new work processes. You will support the development of prototype and concept vehicles, with a strong focus on vehicle electrification, autonomous vehicles, and unmanned vehicle platforms.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Interpret engineering schematics, pin schedules, and loom drawings to construct quality wiring harnesses.
- Understand and follow IPC 620C wire harness build processes.
- Maintain clean and organized work environment.
- Perform quality assurance checks on various Electronics Lab work products.

- Perform installation of electrical components onto vehicles.
- Use and train others on typical electronics tools: oscilloscope, voltmeter, power supplies, hand tools, soldering iron, etc.
- Apply knowledge of military or motorsports industry wiring loom build techniques and components.
- Manage and procure inventory.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Ability to work in small groups to develop practical solutions to engineering problems.
- Apply knowledge of electrical theory and concepts.
- Create wiring diagrams and wire harness manufacturing drawings.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
- High school diploma.
- 5+ years of electronic component build, test, or repair experience.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.
- Education / training.
- Provide feedback on product needs and processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Be a team player.  
- Have great attention to detail, dependability, pride in work, initiative.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Printed circuit board assembly and repair experience.
- Associates degree in technical program.
- Ability to work in small groups to develop practical solutions to engineering problems.
- Must be able to identify color-coded wires and ID labels.
- Ability to work on vehicles and equipment, including on top of, underneath, and confined spaces.
- High voltage system safety experience.
- General knowledge of automotive systems (steering, brakes, powertrain, lighting, etc.).
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of electrical testing methods and equipment.
- Understanding of vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, ethernet, etc.).
- Understanding of embedded control systems and components.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Position requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activity.
 
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Work schedule: Daytime schedule Monday -- Friday with infrequent night/weekend work to achieve deadlines.
- Minimal travel as required for on-site customer work.
