- Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
- Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
- Works with close supervision
- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
- Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected.
- Uses a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Replaces conduit, wiring and circuit breakers as needed.
- Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
- Additional certifications: Typically requires an Electrician's license granted by state
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Electrical Wiring Installation. Install Electrical Services. Reading Blueprints/Diagrams. Safety Inspections. Troubleshooting Electrical Codes
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required
