Position Summary
The Electrical / Mechanical Tester is responsible for performing functional, electrical, and mechanical testing of aerospace components and assemblies to verify compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. This position supports both manufacturing and repair station operations.
The selected candidate will initially complete approximately three weeks of training on 1st Shift before transitioning to 2nd Shift operations.
Key Responsibilities
1 Electrical Testing
- Perform electrical testing using test equipment such as:
- Multimeters
- Power supplies
- Continuity testers
- Functional test benches
- Verify electrical performance against specifications and test procedures.
- Troubleshoot basic electrical issues when discrepancies are identified.
2 Mechanical Testing
- Perform mechanical checks and functional testing of assemblies.
- Verify torque values, mechanical operation, and alignment.
- Support environmental or operational testing when required.
3 Documentation & Compliance
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and test documentation
- Record test results accurately on test reports and travelers.
- Verify all documentation is complete prior to product release.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Engineering drawings
- Work instructions
- Quality procedures
- FAA repair station requirements (when applicable)
4 Troubleshooting Support
- Identify test failures or anomalies.
- Work with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues.
- Document discrepancies and assist in root cause investigations.
5 Equipment & Tool Control
- Use calibrated testing equipment.
- Verify calibration status prior to use.
- Maintain test equipment and report issues if identified.
6 Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow company safety procedures.
- Maintain clean work areas and support FOD control practices.
- Participate in safety and quality training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in electrical and/or mechanical testing or assembly
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Engineering drawings
- Wiring diagrams
- Test procedures
- Experience using electrical test equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently on 2nd Shift
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing or repair station experience
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality environments
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits
- Experience with functional test equipment
- Soldering or wiring experience
