Title: Electrical Technician III
Location: On-site at Wilmington, NC
Duration: 9 Months
Travel Requirements: Periodic (20%) travel to vendor sites and project locations (domestic only, east coast)

Description:
Client's Advanced Manufacturing Technology organization (AMT) is focused on aspects of manufacturing equipment across the following areas: design/development, industrialization, procurement, deployment, and startup. This role is in the Fiber Capital Programs (FCP) department within the Advanced Manufacturing Technology group (AMT) and is centered around capital equipment acquisition and delivery logistics. The position is for an Elec Technician for the Acquisition Team to manage and support the acquisition of equipment that will be installed by FCP deployment teams.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
- Support equipment acquisition efforts in the electrical aspect for different-scale projects for manufacturing equipment upgrades and brown/green-field installations.
- Establish equipment specifications and requirements (configuration, quantity, etc.).
- Provide technical support for Global Supply Management and equipment vendors throughout the competitive bid process (vendor identification, RFQ, vendor selection) then support resolution of issues during the equipment build process.
- Support team leaders on generating a timeline for equipment delivery and incorporate into the integrated schedule.
- Participate in deployment team planning activities.
- Engage with other AMT groups - Capital Deployment Project Teams, Development, Technology Platforms, and Cable Technology.
- Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT).
Hours of work/work schedule/flextime:
- 40hrs M-F, adjusted hours and weekends may be required based on where the project is in the project life cycle.
- Overtime is not uncommon and is expected at times; the amount and duration vary depending on position, project, and point in the project life cycle.
Required Education and Experience:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or
- Associate degree with 1 year of capital projects/acquisition experience.
Additional Experience:
- 1 years of experience on capital projects.
- Familiarity with client experience is a plus.
- Collaborating with resources from other disciplines and organizations.
- Familiarity with the capital purchasing process.
- Working with external vendors.
Required Skills:
- MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Navigational ability in AutoCAD , Vault, Inventor
- 1 years of experience on capital projects
- Understand equipment specifications to find an alternate source if necessary
- Basic knowledge of using electrical tools for troubleshooting
- Self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Organizational aptitude (focused, effective, and efficiency-driven)
- Proactive problem solving resolve challenges quickly
- Able to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently
- Customer service oriented (good communication, motivation, positivity, etc.)
Desired Skills:
-Displays a bias for action in situations of uncertainty, addresses issues and problems proactively.
-Effective communication.
-Capital project experience, supporting equipment installation.
-Mechanical technical understanding.
-This role would not require the individual to design, but CAD management experience is a bonus. The individual will not be expected to know how to design.
