Electrical Estimator

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically driven Electrical Engineer to lead and support estimating and proposal development for electrical systems in construction projects. This role is ideal for someone passionate about preconstruction efforts, cost analysis, and client collaboration—more focused on preparation than project management execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and select Electrical and Instrumentation estimate templates.
• Prepare and review accurate cost estimates for Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems, including labor, materials, equipment, and other expenses.
• Use the Means Manhours Standard as a tool to estimate project labor.
• Negotiate electrical equipment and material prices with suppliers.
• Participate in site walks and pre-bid meetings with clients and estimating teams.
• Coordinate new client visits to present Teksols capabilities.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates and proposal strategies.
• Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope of electrical work.
• Develop and refine electrical schematics, layouts, and plans using industry-standard design tools.
• Draft technical proposals, bids, and pricing packages for construction projects.
• Ensure all technical documentation and drawings meet applicable codes, standards, and client expectations.
• Maintain organized records of all bids, estimates, proposals, client clarifications, and project documentation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.
• Address client inquiries and provide technical responses and clarifications on project estimates, scope, and pricing details.
• Manage, monitor, and support electrical projects.
• Research emerging electrical technologies to support innovation in design and estimating.
• Comply with deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum four (4) years of work experience in construction projects related to electrical and instrumentation.
• Construction industry knowledge.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in construction projects.
• Proficiency in using MS Office such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimates and documentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, performing simultaneous tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Organizational capacity and time management to establish order of priorities.
• Ability to work in a team, but also independently.

This position might require travel around the island and/or the USA. Availability to work Monday to Friday, and non-regular hours, such as weekends and holidays, if necessary.
