Electrical Drafter
Onsite – 5 Days/Week
Location: Chattanooga, TN (local candidates only)
We are seeking an Electrical Drafter to support engineering teams with technical drafting and design tasks. This role requires an intermediate understanding of electrical engineering principles and hands-on experience with drafting for electrical projects.
This position is fully onsite and intended for candidates within commuting distance of Chattanooga, TN. Relocation and per diem are not available.
Key Responsibilities
Create, modify, and maintain technical drawings and project documentation using digital design tools (AutoCAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
Develop deliverables based on engineering design inputs.
Assist with basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
Coordinate drawings and deliverables with other project teams to minimize conflicts and errors.
Apply quality standards and document control procedures to ensure accurate and compliant deliverables.
Support continuous improvement efforts and adapt to evolving processes and technologies.
May begin providing technical guidance to junior team members as experience grows.
Required Qualifications
2–3 years of drafting experience supporting electrical projects (civil-focused backgrounds will not be considered).
2–3 years of experience with Autodesk AutoCAD (MicroStation experience is a plus).
Experience developing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and site layouts.
Substation project experience is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with industry standards and document control processes.
Ability to proactively learn and apply new technologies and procedures.
Understanding of internal and external client project drivers.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
