Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Engineer to join the Bettis Laboratory Site (BLS) Component Test Engineering subdivision. In this role, you'll spearhead efforts to design, implement, and maintain state-of-the-art electrical systems for the Control Drive Mechanism Test Facility (CDMTF), Hot Quiet Test Facility (HQTF), and Large Component Test Facility (LCTF).

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:
• Lead the design and implementation of power distribution systems, power electronics, and facility process control equipment to enable high-pressure, high-temperature testing, steam testing, and other advanced test scenarios.
• Develop and maintain instrumentation and data acquisition systems to ensure precision in testing parameters and results.
• Guide facility and test system upgrades by applying your knowledge of facility system maintenance, regulatory codes, and advanced electrical engineering principles.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, technicians, project managers, and vendors to deliver first-of-a-kind testing solutions.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and serve as a subject-matter expert for high-impact projects.
• Maintain qualifications for electrical work, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), to support system startup, operations, and troubleshooting.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Preferred Skills
• Expertise in the design and maintenance of facility electrical and process control systems.
• Knowledge of national electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance for industrial and test environments.
• Experience working with high-voltage systems, power electronics, or data acquisition equipment.
• Proven ability to identify and implement innovative solutions to meet complex testing challenges.
