Electrical Engineer (Communications Test Design, Inc) (West Chester, PA):
Building, testing, debugging, qualifying, and providing engineering support for test systems to be deployed in support of our Company’s telecommunications equipment operations; Creating testing plans and designing automated testing processes by analyzing the technical requirements for each test system and test development, operationalizing these requirements into specific tests that will yield the expected result, and estimating the material and personnel costs of performing the tests; Deploying testing tools and processes, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, networking/board testing, etc., in support of these testing operations, as well as reviewing and interpreting the output of these tools in order to evaluate test results and otherwise inform the testing process; Developing and implementing our optimal automated engineering testing and repair processes by programming/configuring PLCs (programmable logic controllers), designing GUIs (graphical user interfaces), as well as using programming languages, such as C and C++ to create testing/automation mechanisms for these electronic systems; Collaborating with operations to ensure the successful deployment of test equipment and the implementation of test routines and processes, as well ensuring that testing objectives are met and any issues are identified and effectively addressed; Preparing, editing, and publishing engineering documentation in support of these testing operations, including flow diagrams, BOM (bill of materials), test procedures, and test qualification reports; Using advanced electrical engineering knowledge in order to troubleshoot testing issues or discrepancies, minimize user error and subjectivity, appropriately escalate issues to the development team, and finding and solving root cause issues in a timely and efficient manner. In order to perform the above tasks, knowledge through academic coursework or experience with the following skills are required: Languages: C#, C++, Python; Troubleshooting and resolving complex circuits boards; Using a digital multimeter, logic analyzers, and oscilloscope; Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams and Outlook; and Electronics and electricity. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field, and knowledge obtained through academic coursework or experience involving Electrical Engineering or related field.
