Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Denver, Colorado
Type: 12 month Contract
Compensation: $70.00 to $72.00 per hour
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid
Hours: 40.0 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day maintenance and equipment replacement at substations.
• Lead like-for-like replacements and upgrades of substation equipment such as breakers, switches, transformers, relays, bushings, and arresters.
• Perform troubleshooting, initiate projects, order materials, and develop or adjust designs (brownfield projects, no greenfield design).
• Coordinate with construction teams to execute project tasks, manage schedules, and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders including construction and substation maintenance teams.
• Deliver scoped work packages, materials requisitions, oversee field coordination, and complete replacement and maintenance activities.
• Conduct site visits and field activities, define scope, troubleshoot issues, coordinate with crews, communicate with stakeholders, and follow up on projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of substation equipment and troubleshooting experience or willingness to work in the field.
• Familiarity with brownfield replacement and maintenance workflows.
• Experience with stakeholder coordination, project initiation, and materials ordering.
• Software skills: SAP, ProjectWise, and basic PLC/logic programming skills are a plus (not required).
• Strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, collaboration, and professional communication (especially with field crews).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Colorado PE license preferred.
