Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar field required; dual degrees or advanced degree preferred
Experience & Skills
Required:
· Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a direct electrical engineering role in Research & Development.
· Experience translating high-level concepts/ideas, user needs and business objectives into clear, actionable engineering requirements and specifications.
· Experience with analog and digital circuitry design and development
· Experience with embedded electrical design
· PCBA ideation, concept generation, design, prototyping, manufacturing, and troubleshooting experience
· Demonstrated ability to debug and test electrical systems using oscilloscopes and other test tools
· Detailed understanding of board-level printed circuit design and signal integrity issues
· Demonstrated ability working across subject areas with internal and external partners
· Strong collaboration, proven technical leadership capabilities, and conflict resolution skills
Preferred:
Experience formulating and coordinating different engineering approaches to test hypotheses, such as hand calculations, computational modeling and simulation, empirical testing (benchtop and in vivo) and method development as appropriate
· Experience with rigid-flex PCBAs and flex PCBAs
· Experience with integration of motors in electrical systems
· Knowledge and how to control DC motors (e.g. brushed, brushless, servo, etc.)
· Experience with various communication protocols (e.g. Bluetooth, SPI, I2C, USB, UART, USART, etc.)
· Demonstrated proficiency in Cadence and/or Altium for PCB layout
· Design for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity, electrically fast transients, electrostatic discharge, etc.
· Experience with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-2-2 etc.
· Design for test, manufacture, and assembly
· Experience with various programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Python, Labview, etc.)
· Design control experience
