AvtechTyee is searching for an Electrical Engineer with project management experience and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to help position our company for new growth and improved social responsibility. Aerospace manufacturing experience would be a real plus!

You will be working on the electronics engineering team, supporting R&D and our manufacturing floor.
Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Support the design, development, and sustaining of aerospace electronic hardware, with a primary focus on schematic design, circuit analysis, and PCB/PCBA development. The role also supports sustaining activities such as component requalification, obsolescence changes, production support, and documentation updates via controlled configuration and change processes.
- Work cross-functionally across the organization by partnering closely with Production and Quality to address obsolescence, returns, and product improvements, and contributing to program execution through effective and efficient use of technical tools to solve design problems. The role also collaborates with operations, sales, ITC, document control, and test engineering to maintain product integrity, ensure smooth execution across the product lifecycle, and support our customers.
Must haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field
- 2+ years of experience in a design engineering capacity
- Demonstrated ownership of component selection, circuit analysis, and documentation for aerospace/defense (derating, SPICE, schematic and PCB design, and similar efforts) in both the digital and analog domains
- Demonstrated success in finding solutions in a highly regulated industry
- Familiarity with schematic and layout tools and design checks and use of PLM for configuration control
- Demonstrated success working and coordinating with cross functional teams to achieve goals.
- Comfort with and practical knowledge of operating in an ISO/AS quality system
Software Proficiency:
- Altium (desired) or similar schematic/layout tools
- Spice (many varieties)
- Microsoft Office tools
- Microsoft Project (nice to have)
- MathCAD (nice to have)
- Altair Hyperworks (nice to have)
- Audio Precision Tools and software (nice to have)
- Data acquisition tools (matlab, NI DAQ, etc) (nice to have)
- SiliconExpert (nice to have)
Nice to haves:
- Highly desired to have experience in manufacturing
- Highly desired to have experience in aerospace or other highly regulated industry
- Experience with navigating and running DO-214 Audio Performance tests
- Experience with DO-254 Design Assurance processes
- Experience with DO-160 (and/or equivalent Military Standards) including test procedures, hands-on test support, and formal test records · Explicit AS9100 experience
- Experience with circuit/layout design for EMI/EMC compatibility
- Experience with SiliconExpert

The wage/salary range for this role is:
Electrical Engineer 2 (2-7 years plus demonstrated skills) $100k-$130k
Electrical Engineer 3 (8+ years plus demonstrated skills) $130k-$150k
