Accentuate Staffing is assisting a growing company within the steel production and distribution industry who is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity working 1st shift and any on call time as needed.

 
 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all Environmental, Health & Safety programs across 2 NC sites
  • Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Conduct site audits, risk assessments, and safety inspections; ensure audit readiness at all times
  • Identify hazards, investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Partner with site leadership to solve safety and compliance issues proactively
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable environmental regulations
  • Deliver safety training and coaching to supervisors and employees
  • Track and report EHS metrics, trends, and corrective action plans
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and culture
  • Support new process rollouts and operational changes with EHS guidance

Requirements:

  • EHS leadership experience in construction, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or similar environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Proven experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Experience preparing for and supporting regulatory or customer audits
  • Ability to influence and coach leaders and frontline employees
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Willingness to travel between sites as needed
  • EHS certifications (ASP, CSP, CHST, or similar) are a plus
