Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Wire and Sinker EDM machines according to job specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Adjust EDM machine parameters (e.g., power, pulse, flush) to optimize cutting performance and surface finish.
• Load, unload, and accurately secure workpieces and electrodes onto machine fixtures.
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of EDM equipment.
• Monitor machine operation, identify anomalies, and make necessary adjustments to ensure production efficiency and part quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Proficiency in setting up EDM machines, including selecting and installing electrodes, tooling, and workholding fixtures.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges) for in-process and final part inspection.
• Strong understanding of EDM principles and ability to adjust machine parameters for optimal performance and part quality.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
• Experience with advanced metrology tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparators)
• Basic understanding of preventative maintenance or machine troubleshooting
• Knowledge of G-code programming or specific EDM control languages
