Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a leading automotive technology organization, is seeking a skilled Dyno Test Technician. This role is responsible for operating dynamometer systems, supporting electrified powertrain testing, and ensuring accurate data collection across validation activities. You’ll work hands-on with advanced test equipment to support development and validation of next-generation propulsion systems.

Job Duties

  • Operate and maintain dynamometer systems for vehicle and powertrain testing
  • Install and configure instrumentation including thermocouples, strain gauges, and pressure sensors
  • Build and set up test rigs for mechanical and electrical validation activities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on test equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot test cell and system issues, providing first-line diagnostics and resolution
  • Support test engineers in executing validation plans and equipment upgrades
  • Diagnose and repair prototype electrical and mechanical systems
  • Document test results, procedures, and issues while escalating concerns as needed

Skills & Experience

Required

  • 5+ years of experience working with dynamometers or in test cell environments
  • 2+ years of experience with electrified or hybrid vehicle systems
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation (thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure sensors)
  • Experience with powertrain test setup and validation processes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in tooling and fixture setup
  • Knowledge of electric drive units, motors, and inverter systems
  • Familiarity with EV safety protocols and high-voltage systems
  • Experience using automotive diagnostic tools and test equipment

Desired

  • Experience supporting NVH or thermal testing environments
  • Knowledge of coolant and refrigerant-based thermal systems
  • Experience with test system upgrades and modifications
  • Exposure to gearbox and propulsion system validation
  • Experience with data acquisition systems and test automation tools
  • Understanding of test error-proofing methodologies
