About the Opportunity
An engineering organization is seeking a Drafting Specialist to support the design and development of control instrumentation and valve systems used in natural gas regulation and pipeline infrastructure. This role focuses on producing technical drawings, assembly layouts, and engineering documentation for control valves, actuators, and pipeline systems used in energy and industrial applications.
Job Duties
• Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings for control valves, instrumentation packages, actuators, and pipeline systems.
• Create assembly drawings, detailed part drawings, and fabrication packages for manufacturing.
• Develop Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement drawings, and installation layouts.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and component specifications.
• Support engineering teams in the design of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic control systems.
• Update drawings to incorporate engineering changes, product improvements, and custom configurations.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards such as ASME, API, and ISO.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to support efficient fabrication and assembly processes.
• Maintain drawing records, documentation, and revision control.

Qualifications
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical drafting or industrial equipment design experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar.
• Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, valves, actuators, instrumentation, and piping systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• 3+ years of mechanical drafting or industrial equipment design experience.
