Overview


The Director, Strategic Planning & Forecasting is responsible for leading Brightstar Lottery’s enterprise forecasting, planning, and revenue modeling capabilities. This role serves as the primary liaison between the Marketing organization and Finance, ensuring accurate and timely development of sales forecasts, customer-specific revenue projections, and strategic growth modeling. The Director oversees forecasting methodologies, initiative tracking, and reporting processes that drive the company’s budgeting and planning cycles. This includes close coordination with account owners, senior executives, and experts who support statistical and data-science-driven forecast refinement.


Responsibilities


Strategic Forecasting & Planning


+ Lead the internal budget and Same Store Sales forecast process for the US Retail Lottery business lines.

+ Will develop an integrated budget and forecast process for Retail Lottery, LMA, and iLottery US sales.

+ Coordinate annual and multi-year customer growth plans with account leads.

+ Forecast revenue for major draw games such as Powerball and Mega Millions.


Cross-Functional Coordination


+ Serve as the primary Marketing liaison with Finance.

+ Collaborate with the SVP, CFO, and CEO to refine and approve forecasts.


Performance Tracking & Initiative Management


+ Track revenue-generating initiatives and integrate results into forecasting cycles.

+ Evaluate initiative performance versus forecast and adjust predictive models accordingly.


Deliverables


+ Forecasting and planning materials aligned with responsibilities.

+ Executive-ready analyses on sales performance and future projections.

+ Documentation of modeling methodologies and initiative impacts.


Qualifications


Education & Experience


+ Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field required; advanced degree preferred.

+ 8+ years of experience in forecasting, strategic planning, or financial modeling.

+ Experience working with senior executives and cross-functional teams.


Technical Skills


+ Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

+ Strong forecasting and statistical analysis experience.

+ Familiarity with SQL, data visualization, and modeling tools.

+ Strong PowerPoint skills and ability to present complex data clearly.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $137,954 - $212,237. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.


Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.
