Brief Overview: The Leader Role, Quality Transformation provides system-level leadership to design, align, and execute the enterprise quality transformation agenda across the continuum of care, including acute care hospitals, employed medical group (EHMG), and affiliated provider networks (EHPP). Reporting to the Vice President, Quality and Care Transformation, this role partners with executive leaders, physician leaders, institutes/service lines, and established governance committees to drive progress toward Board-committed performance targets and improvement priorities.

This leader oversees cross-continuum metric workgroups, integrates performance measurement and operational improvement routines, and accelerates the spread of reliable practices through structured change leadership, governance alignment, and system learning. Accountable for advancing enterprise quality transformation priorities and measurable improvements in system performance

What you will do:
  • Leads enterprise improvement initiatives across key performance focus areas (e.g., mortality, healthcare-associated infections, readmissions, ED utilization, HEDIS Stars performance, chronic condition management, total cost of care, post-discharge follow-up, medication adherence, and pharmacy cost management), ensuring shared aims, aligned measures, and coordinated tactics across acute care, EHMG, and EHPP priorities.
  • Operationalizes enterprise standards and implementation supports (e.g., playbooks, toolkits, communication plans, leader standard work, and adoption metrics) to enable consistent execution of quality transformation initiatives across hospitals, practices, and affiliated providers.
  • Provides change leadership for enterprise transformation initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, readiness assessment, implementation planning, resistance management, and sustainment strategies to ensure successful adoption and measurable improvement.
  • Leads and develops assigned team members (e.g., transformation leads, clinical transformation managers, analysts, and project support staff), including goal setting, coaching, performance management, and talent development to support execution of transformation priorities.
  • Establishes and maintains governance integration routines that connect existing quality and operational forums (e.g., System Quality Council, Hospital Quality Committees, EHMG Quality Committee, EHPP Quality and Utilization Management Committee, and Institute/Service Line Quality Committees), including agenda alignment, decision tracking, escalation pathways, and follow-through on action items.
  • Partners with clinical data and analytics teams to define standardized metric specifications, develop enterprise dashboards and scorecards, monitor performance against targets, and identify variation and priority opportunities for improvement.
  • Convenes cross-continuum learning and practice spread mechanisms, in partnership with the Director, High Reliability and Clinical Integration, to capture best practices and accelerate adoption of successful interventions across institutes, service lines, super pods, and entities.
  • Integrates harm, risk, and regulatory signals into transformation priorities by partnering with Patient Safety, Risk Management, Patient Experience, Regulatory/Accreditation, Infection Prevention, Pharmacy, and Clinical Operations leaders to ensure alignment of improvement priorities, controls, and oversight mechanisms.


What you will need:
  • Required Minimum Education Level:
    • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Business, or a related field.
  • Certification:
    • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and/or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred. Institute for Healthcare Improvement training preferred.
    • Formal training or certification in change management (e.g., Prosci) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 7 years of progressive experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, patient experience, performance management, or transformation work across complex systems.
    • 3 years of leadership experience (direct people leadership and/or leading enterprise programs with significant scope).
  • Skills:
    • Ability to lead complex, cross-functional transformation programs with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
    • Strong executive communication skills, including synthesis of performance data into clear narratives, options, and decisions.
    • Facilitation skills to drive alignment and decision-making across acute care, medical group, and affiliated networks.
