About the role:
A Director of People Analytics is a senior leadership role responsible for transforming workforce data into strategic business insights. They act as the bridge between technical data science and human resources, helping the organization make evidence-based decisions on hiring, retention, diversity, and productivity.
This is a remote position open to candidates in the U.S. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive people analytics strategy that aligns with the companys business goals and people strategy.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of people analytics professionals, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Data Analysis & Insights: Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of people data to identify trends, predict outcomes, and provide strategic recommendations on critical people issues.
• Stakeholder Consultation: Partner closely with executive leadership, HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, and other key stakeholders to understand their business challenges and provide data-backed solutions.
• Dashboard & Reporting: Oversee the design, delivery and enablement of a suite of self-service dashboards, interfaces and reports that empower leaders across the organization.
• Technology & Tools: Act as the subject matter expert on people analytics tools and technologies, including Workday, data visualization platforms such as Tableau, AI/Automation, and statistical software.
• Storytelling: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling, and concise presentations and narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum requirements for the role:
• Years of experience: 10+ years of experience in an analytics role, with at least 5 years in a dedicated people analytics function.
• Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related discipline. Masters degree preferred.
Specific experience: 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing and developing a team.
• Proven experience developing and executing a multi-year analytics roadmap and strategy.
• Demonstrated ability to produce executive-ready deliverables (dashboards, decks, presentations, and narratives).
• Experience establishing data governance and best practices for data integrity, privacy, and compliance.
An ideal candidate also has:
• Experience with practical application of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytical techniques.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people data to business outcomes.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Deep knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employee lifecycle events.
• Experience working in a high-growth technology company.
Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.
We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market.
The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
