ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the CIO and firm leadership to define and implement the firm’s application strategy.
- Participate in developing and executing the firm’s AI strategy, identifying opportunities for automation, analytics, and enhanced client service.
- Develop a roadmap for legal technology solutions that supports efficiency, compliance, and innovation.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with firm goals and industry best practices.
- Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of core legal applications, including:
- Document Management Systems (DMS) – iManage experience highly desirable
- Financial Systems – Aderant experience preferred
- Case Management and Docketing
- Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms
- Ensure seamless integration between systems to support workflows and reporting needs.
- Lead a team responsible for application support, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Establish governance, standards, and best practices for application deployment and usage.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for software and services.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to firm leadership, attorneys and practice groups on technology solutions.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure optimal use of applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Drive initiatives to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities for financial and operational insights.
- Ensure data integrity and security across all systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in legal technology management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of legal applications, including iManage, Aderant, and other practice management tools.
- Proven ability to develop and execute technology strategies in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Experience with system integrations, data analytics, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with AI concepts and their application in legal technology is a plus.
Benefits:
The annual salary range for this position is $120,000-$170,000. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses, and a full benefits package.
