Full-Service Hotel | NYC Tri-State Area (NY/NJ/CT)

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the commercial strategy for a full-service hotel in the NYC Tri-State area. This role is responsible for driving total revenue performance across all segments, including group, corporate, catering, and transient business, while strengthening market positioning and maximizing share.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can think strategically, execute tactically, and deliver measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to drive revenue, occupancy, and market share
  • Lead all group, corporate, catering, and transient sales efforts
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities across key demand segments
  • Manage and grow a strong portfolio of accounts to drive repeat and long-term business
  • Partner closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, forecasting, and inventory strategies
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership to align commercial strategy with overall business objectives
  • Oversee RFP responses, contract negotiations, and account production
  • Analyze market trends, competitive set activity, and performance data to adjust strategy proactively
  • Lead, coach, and develop the sales team, driving accountability and performance
  • Ensure strong visibility in the local market through networking, industry involvement, and client engagement
  • Partner with marketing resources to support positioning, digital presence, and brand awareness

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive hotel sales experience, preferably within a full-service environment
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving/exceeding targets
  • Strong knowledge of the NYC Tri-State market (NY/NJ/CT) and key demand drivers
  • Experience across group, corporate, catering, and transient segments
  • Proficiency with hotel systems such as Delphi, CI/TY, Opera, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized, strategic, and able to operate in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment

Compensation
