Position Summary
Tech Electronics is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead our Denver office. This role is responsible forsetting sales strategy, leading and developing a high-performing sales team, and driving profitable revenue growth across new construction, retrofit, and service opportunities. The ideal candidate brings deep fire alarm industry experience, strong leadership capability, and a proven track record of building relationships with end users, contractors, consultants, and AHJs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the sales strategy for the Fire Alarm business in the Denver region, aligned with company growth and margin objectives.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales professionals and estimators; set clear expectations, goals, and accountability.
- Drive new business development while expanding existing customer relationships across vertical markets (commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, multi-site, etc.).
- Partner closely with Operations, Estimating, and Project Management to ensure accurate proposals, competitive pricing, and seamless project handoff.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, electrical contractors, developers, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Oversee pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting; use CRM data to guide decisions and improve sales effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices (NFPA, local/state codes, UL, etc.).
- Collaborate with executive leadership on market expansion, staffing plans, and long-term growth initiatives.
- Represent Tech Electronics professionally in the Denver market, at industry events, and within professional associations.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of sales leadership experience within the fire alarm / life safety industry.
- Demonstrated success selling fire alarm systems, service, and inspections in a competitive market.
- Strong understanding of fire alarm codes, standards, and the construction sales cycle.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop sales teams.
- Experience working with CRM platforms and data-driven sales management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally within the Denver metro area.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET certification (Level II-IV) or equivalent fire alarm credentials.
- Experience selling integrated life safety solutions (fire alarm combined with security, access control, or other systems).
- Prior P&L ownership or direct responsibility for revenue and margin performance.
- Established network within the Denver construction and life safety market.
