The Director of Procurement is a hands-on role responsible for designing, implementing, and executing procurement operations across Vehicle Management Solutions. This individual will lead procurement transformation by establishing processes, controls, and vendor relationships in a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stand up and operationalize a centralized procurement function for VMS and its operating companies.

  2. Own end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, vendor selection, negotiations, contracting, and purchasing.

  3. Develop and execute category strategies across various areas such as fleet, equipment, and technology.

  4. Personally lead negotiations for high-impact and high-spend vendors.

  5. Create scalable procurement workflows that balance speed with appropriate controls.

  6. Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of new procurement policies and workflows.

  7. Identify gaps and develop strategies to execute without needing a fully developed roadmap.

  8. Execute purchase orders, vendor onboarding, renewals, and contract tracking.

  9. Manage pricing, rebates, credits, and volume-based agreements.

  10. Provide creative solutions for urgent purchasing needs while maintaining compliance and cost discipline.

  11. Leverage data analytics to identify optimization opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.

  12. Build dashboards and procurement KPIs to support operational decision-making and insights.

  13. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure proper contract execution and storage.

  14. Design procurement policies and drive procurement transformation in a PE-backed organization.

  15. Partner cross-functionally to ensure smooth transition to centralized procurement processes.
Qualifications:

  • 8–12+ years of progressive procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.

  • Proven experience building a procurement function.

  • Strong negotiation experience with vendors and service providers.

  • Experience in multi-site, operations-heavy environments.

  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of cost structures.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead procurement change initiatives.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience using procurement data.
