Job Details
Position Summary:
The Director of Preconstruction is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all preconstruction functions, driving strategic preconstruction planning, estimating, value engineering, and client engagement to support successful project execution and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the preconstruction team, setting direction, expectations, and goals.
- Develop and refine estimating strategies, cost models, and bid plans that align with company objectives.
- vEstablish strong relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance on constructability, risk mitigation, cost control, and value optimization.
- Champion continuous improvement of preconstruction processes, tools, and best practices.
- Collaborate with business development and operations teams to evaluate opportunities and contribute to pursuit strategy.
- Mentor and develop talent within the preconstruction group.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive preconstruction and estimating experience within the commercial construction industry.
- Proven track record of leading preconstruction efforts for diverse projects and complex bids.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret cost data, forecasts, and market trends.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with preconstruction technology platforms and estimating software.
- Ability to travel to client and project sites as required.
