The Director of Maintenance will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive strategy that will drive the change necessary to improve the overall maintenance performance (metrics) of our plant. This will ultimately enable our plant to operate at the highest level of efficiency in a consistent and repeatable manner. Success will be measured by the benchmarks that define this improvement such as uptime, meantime to repair, and meantime to failure. The priorities of this position include strategic planning, operational excellence, maintenance parts and equipment expertise, supply chain management, quality assurance, collaboration and teaming, problem solving/analysis and leading through change.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Ability to diagnose complex operating models and to identify the root cause of operational and mechanical issues.
* Ability to build an end-to-end strategy that will address and enable process improvement and operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
* Brings maintenance engineering expertise in the areas of mechanical parts and equipment to ensure best practices are embedded into the process.
* Ability to assess and evaluate the skills and capabilities of all plant maintenance personnel.
* Builds, develops, and manages a high performing maintenance engineering team capable of carrying out needed maintenance initiatives.
* Lead the development and execution of an end-to-end training plan that introduces new practices and methodologies that will sustain and thrive beyond launch.
* Ability to challenge current standards and redefine how the work is performed by the maintenance team. Determines work procedures and expedites workflow. Assigns duties and examines work for conformance to policies and procedures.
* Effective communication and discussion of all change initiatives ensuring that the relevant business, operations, and technology stakeholders are engaged and that all issues and risks are identified and escalated.
Salary: $100-$130k
Position Requirements:
* Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering Required.
* Highly proficient to expert in mechanical parts and equipment.
* 10-15 years of professional hands-on experience in leading, managing and directing maintenance effort in a food plant environment.
* Must have experience leading maintenance in a large plant or extensive work life experience in maintenance in a plant.
* Excellent project management skills.
* Strong technical leadership skills with a proven track record of successfully implementing and improving maintenance practices.
* Strong work ethic, flexibility and ability to multi-task required in fast-paced bakery environment
* Must be flexible with hours (Hours will be any time between 6am-8pm, no overnights. This will allow the director to be able to touch base with the mechanics on different shifts and see different parts of the production process)
* Candidate must have strong communication skills on all organizational levels
