Oversight of international freight, including customs and compliance, is expected. Continuous evaluation and optimization of supplier and vendor lanes are necessary to enhance cost-effectiveness, along with system advancements to boost operational transparency and supply chain success.
Responsibilities also extend to overseeing the performance and accountability of distribution centers, managing both internal teams and third-party collaborators to sustain top-notch operational standards. Ensuring diligent inventory control practices and workforce development strategies is a priority. Technological improvements to streamline operations and interregional collaborations for performance enhancement are also part of the role's remit.
A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required, alongside over seven years of progressive leadership in logistics or supply chain sectors, with direct distribution center management. The role calls for experience in nurturing high-performing teams, establishing efficient workflows, and fostering continuous improvement. Previous experience in food distribution is advantageous.
