Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of IT Services to lead our technology operations and drive strategic IT initiatives across the organization. This leadership role requires a seasoned technology professional who can effectively manage diverse IT teams, maintain critical infrastructure, and ensure seamless technology operations that support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Oversee and manage help desk personnel, networking professionals, and system administrators
  • Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for IT staff
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and establish clear performance metrics and accountability standards
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects and ensure effective resource allocation across IT teams
Systems Administration & Infrastructure
  • Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of Windows-based server environments and enterprise systems
  • Oversee network infrastructure planning, implementation, and optimization
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Monitor system performance and implement proactive maintenance schedules
Vendor Relations & Contract Management
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key technology vendors and service providers
  • Lead contract negotiations for software licenses, hardware purchases, and professional services
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations for technology investments
  • Manage vendor performance and ensure service level agreement compliance
  • Oversee IT budget planning and cost optimization initiatives
Strategic Planning & Operations
  • Develop and execute IT strategic plans aligned with organizational goals
  • Assess emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiency
  • Establish IT governance frameworks and change management processes
  • Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership on IT operations and initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards

Required Qualifications
Experience & Technical Skills
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on system administration experience in Windows environments
  • Proven leadership experience managing IT teams and complex technology projects
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and enterprise networking
  • Experience with cloud technologies, virtualization platforms, and modern IT infrastructure
  • Demonstrated success in vendor relationship management and contract negotiation
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Relevant industry certifications preferred (Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, etc.)
  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred but not required
Leadership & Communication Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to executive audiences
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business language
  • Experience developing and managing IT budgets and financial planning.
