About the Role

The Director of Industry Solutions will utilize deep professional experience and industry expertise in fire prevention to help achieve LIV’s mission to protect life and property, reduce fire-related risks, and improve community safety. Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer of LIV, the Director of Industry Solutions will work closely with LIV’s sales, customer success, marketing, product, and executive teams to support business development efforts, highlight industry thought leadership and best practices, and support company strategy and product roadmap initiatives.This is a senior, externally-facing role that serves as a trusted advisor to fire marshals and prevention teams, helping them solve operational challenges and elevate how prevention programs are run with the adoption of LIV solutions. Working with the Sales team, you will actively engage with prospects, customers and partners to provide industry context and position LIV’s solutions effectively. You will also partner with the Customer Success team and work directly with fire departments and public safety agencies to ensure they maximize the value of LIV’s software for inspections, compliance, and fire prevention.

This role requires extensive professional experience in the fire service and specifically in fire prevention at an Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), typically as a Fire Marshal, Assistant Fire Marshal, or another high-ranking position. This position requires significant business travel for customer meetings, industry events, and conferences.

Key Responsibilities

Industry Thought Leadership and Representation

  • Speak on industry issues and share prevention best practices at meetings, events, conferences and tradeshows. Stay current on evolving codes, regulations, and industry trends

  • Engage with state, regional and national fire service associations and fire prevention organizations

  • Represent LIV at conferences, meetings, and tradeshows

  • Partner with LIV’s Product, Customer Success and Marketing teams to develop thought leadership content

  • Build relationships with fire marshals, prevention leaders, and public safety stakeholders

  • Help strengthen LIV’s credibility and presence within the fire prevention community

Sales and Go-to-Market Efforts

  • Partner closely with Sales to engage prospective customers, bringing fire service expertise into the sales process to help position LIV’s solutions effectively

  • Support business development and partnership efforts by providing industry context, credibility, and real-world insight during customer conversations, demos, and evaluations

  • Help prospects understand how LIV’s platform can address operational challenges across inspections (including third-party inspections), compliance, and prevention workflows

  • Utilize professional network to engage potential customers and elevate awareness of LIV solutions

  • Align LIV’s capabilities with customer needs, requirements, and priorities

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and leadership to support go-to-market efforts, messaging, and overall growth strategy

Positive Customer Outcomes

  • Build strong relationships with AHJ’s, fire departments and public safety customers. Partner with Customer Success team to drive adoption of best practices and to improve compliance and public safety

  • Help customers successfully adopt and apply LIV’s platform within their prevention and compliance workflows. Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks in current processes, and guide departments toward more effective approaches

  • Use data and real-world experience to help improve inspection programs, compliance efforts, and overall prevention outcomes

Company Strategy and Product Roadmap

  • Partner with LIV’s Product team to apply your fire service experience and prevention expertise to LIV product requirements and roadmap priorities

  • Capture and validate new prospect and customer requirements into roadmap priorities as part of product development process

  • Work closely with LIV executive team on company strategy

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Candidates must have 15+ years of fire service experience and 10+ years of fire prevention experience at an Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), including leadership experience in roles such as Fire Marshal, Assistant Fire Marshal, Assistant Chief for Prevention, and/or similar senior positions

  • Hands-on experience with multiple aspects of fire prevention operations, including fire codes, annual inspections, third-party inspections, new construction, permitting, community risk reduction, and/or fire investigations, is required

  • Experience engaging with or contributing to state, regional and/or national fire service associations, boards, and committees is highly valued

  • Familiarity with different technology, software systems and GovTech platforms used by fire departments, public safety departments and municipalities is desired

  • Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage credibly with fire service leaders, customers, and internal teams

  • Experience presenting, training, or speaking in front of industry groups, customers, or internal teams is highly valued

  • Strong candidates will have experience and confidence using software applications, data and reporting to support decision-making and operational improvements. Proficiency with standard business tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) is required.
