The Company:
Benjamin West is the global leader in furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) and operating supplies and equipment (OS&E) purchasing for hotels, restaurants, senior living, and mixed-use properties. The company headquarters are in Louisville Colorado with satellite offices in Chicago, Dallas, Maryland, and London. We have completed projects in 40 countries and 6 territories and work on over 400 projects in any given year. We provide a dedicated team to each project, which includes a project accounting team to support the budgeting, project cash flow, GL coding, sales tax accrual, and other financial needs on our clients’ projects.
Position Overview:
The Director of Finance is responsible for managing the project accounting team, financial reporting for company, HR oversight with the company’s PEO and assisting the CFO in implementing the overall financial and HR strategies of the company.
Essential Role and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all corporate accounting functions including monthly close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with external partners including CPA firm, the companies PEO, banking relationship and insurance provider
- Oversight of HR and act as the primary contact with the companies PEO
- Responsible for payroll submission to the companies PEO
- Oversee the project accounting team to ensure that the 400+ projects a year and respective bank accounts are processed and reporting is delivered to clients timely
- Lead, develop and mentor accounting team members
- Work with clients to assist with understanding their project reporting, sales and use tax, and historical tax credits on their projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of sales and use tax in various states
- High integrity, professionalism, and ability to influence across all levels.

- This role reports to the CFO
