Position Overview
Our growing manufacturing client is seeking an accomplished Director of Accounting to lead and oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial operations while supporting strategic decision-making at the executive level.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cost and inventory accounting, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to managing complex financial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership & OperationsOversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and inventory/cost accounting
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in compliance with U.S. GAAP
Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Financial Reporting & AnalysisPrepare and present financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts to executive leadership
Analyze production, inventory, and logistics costs to support pricing, margin analysis, and operational efficiency
Provide financial insights to guide strategic and operational decision-making
Audit, Compliance & ControlsServe as the primary liaison for external audits and tax advisors
Ensure audit readiness and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations
Monitor financial risk and strengthen internal controls
Team Leadership & Process ImprovementLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
Drive process enhancements and leverage ERP and financial systems to improve efficiency and accuracy
Partner cross-functionally with operations, leadership, and other departments
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA strongly preferred
8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership role
Manufacturing or industrial accounting experience required
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and U.S. GAAP
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities
