Position Summary

The Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations is accountable for the reliability, resilience, security, and modernization of Enerpac’s global infrastructure platform. This role owns global plant connectivity, network and firewall architecture, hybrid cloud and data center environments, disaster recovery, end-user computing, and core infrastructure security controls.

 

Operating within a lean IT model, this leader must be technically credible and hands-on—setting global standards, leading critical incident response, and driving disciplined execution across a distributed manufacturing footprint. The Director defines and executes a multi-year infrastructure roadmap aligned to manufacturing uptime, cybersecurity risk reduction, scalability, and cost leadership.

 

This role owns enterprise infrastructure risk posture, including defined RTO/RPO standards, disaster recovery validation, and executive-level reporting. The Director serves as incident commander during major disruptions and leads global standardization and modernization initiatives to reduce technical debt, strengthen resilience, and sustain cost efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Risk Ownership
Define and execute a 3–5 year infrastructure roadmap aligned to manufacturing uptime, cybersecurity risk reduction, and cost leadership. Translate technical risk into clear business impact and provide executive visibility into resilience and investment priorities.

 

Global Infrastructure & Manufacturing Support
Ensure secure, standardized connectivity across global plants, warehouses, and offices. Lead network and firewall architecture, OT/IT segmentation, and uptime-critical production support.

 

Resilience & Operations
Own high availability, disaster recovery strategy and validation, major incident command, lifecycle management, and elimination of single points of failure.

 

Hybrid Platforms & Service Delivery
Oversee hybrid cloud and on-prem platforms, including compute, storage, backup, monitoring, and end-user environments. Drive scalability, performance, and cost optimization.

 

Security & Governance Alignment
Partner with Information Security to enforce patching, vulnerability remediation, privileged access controls, and ransomware readiness.

 

Financial & Vendor Management
Own infrastructure budgets and vendor performance. Balance cost discipline with operational resilience.

 

Team Leadership
Lead and develop a globally distributed team within a lean operating model, fostering accountability and execution rigor.

 

Core Technologies

Networking & Security: WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, wireless, next-generation firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco), VPN, OT/IT segmentation, NAC, DNS/DHCP, routing and switching.
Cloud & Infrastructure: Azure, AWS, VMware, Windows Server, enterprise storage and backup platforms.
Endpoint & Collaboration: Microsoft 365, Intune/MDM, patch management.
Monitoring & Operations: Infrastructure observability tools, ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow), ransomware protection solutions.

 

Success Measures

99.9%+ manufacturing uptime; validated disaster recovery capability; reduced major incident recurrence; standardized global architecture; improved service performance; strengthened cybersecurity posture; infrastructure cost efficiency aligned with budget; delivery of roadmap milestones.

 

Qualifications

Required: 12+ years progressive IT infrastructure experience; 5+ years senior infrastructure leadership; experience in global manufacturing environments; deep networking and hybrid infrastructure expertise; hands-on architectural capability; global vendor management experience; ability to operate in a lean organization.

Preferred: Public company experience; ERP infrastructure support ;M&A integration experience; familiarity with SOX or similar compliance frameworks.
