Responsibilities
As Director of Information Security, you’re committed to the positive retention and engagement of your team members. You recognize effective communication as a top priority. You identify as an agent of change, solving organizational challenges through insight and inquiry. Exploring new avenues to help your teams and the organization succeed is central to your work. You’ll stand by decisions in the interest of Community; the popular and the unpopular.
- Develop and maintain a strategic, risk-based information security program aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, SOC 2, NIST).
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC), co-managed threat monitoring team, and all outsourced security services.
- Lead deployment, maintenance, and integration of enterprise security technologies, including: SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP, Proxy, IAM, ATD, Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) platforms, and Vulnerability Management Systems (VMS).
- Lead the development, review, and communication of security policies, standards and procedures.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Management Information Systems Security or related field required
Experience
- 10 years of experience managing or directing an IT security operations area or security monitoring or auditing and compliance experience with at least five years of which were in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting required
License and Certifications:
- One or more of the following is preferred:
- CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- CISM-SEC - Certified Information Security Manager
- ACDA - ACL Certified Data Analyst
- HCISPP - HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner

Community Health Systems, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) 330 HRSA Grantee with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. Established from the roots of Inland Empire Community Health Center in Bloomington, CHSI has grown with community health centers in the counties of Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego. These centers have been developed in accordance with standards established for safety net providers by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA), the Public Health Service (PHS), and the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC).
As such, services are offered to the neediest in each community - the un-insured and under-insured, the working poor, those with limited ability to pay, the homeless, and the indigent. Services are provided at discounted (sliding fee scale) rates for those who qualify based on gross annual income and family size.
