Come join a dynamic team and play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and security of IT infrastructure for a leading utility company. We are seeking a Data Security Engineer in our Milwaukee, Green Bay, or Chicago locations. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish and implement robust standards and criteria for data security requirements.
- Design, develop, deploy, and manage cutting-edge enterprise data security solutions, including data loss prevention, encryption, cloud data protection, and governance compliance.
- Leverage in-depth understanding of DLP, Data Discovery, Classification, Encryption, Masking, Tagging, and Governance.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential data security threats, including third-party cyber risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy data protection measures and best practices.
- Provide expert guidance on data privacy management and risk mitigation techniques.
- Ensure KPIs related to data security are accurately tracked and reported.
- Monitor and respond to data security incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Regularly review data security policies and standards, providing input and recommendations to enhance and adapt to changing regulations and industry best practices.
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, information technology, computer information systems, MIS, or engineering is preferred. A combination of associate degree, military or professional cybersecurity experience, and cybersecurity certification (CISSP, GAIC, MCSE, CEH, GICSP, CSSA, CISM) will be considered.
- 2 years of experience in cybersecurity.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in data engineering or database designs/architectures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cybersecurity certification (CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CCSP, GAIC, MCSE, GICSP, CSSA).
Desirable Skills
- Active Directory Design and Management
- Cloud expertise with Azure, AWS, GCP
- Scripting experience in PowerShell or .NET (VB or C#)
- Security Operations Center (SOC)
- Data security proficiency
- Network Access Management, DNS, DHCP
