Our client, a national, multi-practice law firm, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support professional staff across the firm. This is a direct hire role ideal for an HR professional who enjoys partnering with leadership, managing employee relations, and supporting firm-wide HR initiatives in a professional services environment.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a firm or professional services setting
  • Previous direct people management experience
  • Advanced, hands-on knowledge of California employment law and experience supporting California-based employees required for this role
  • HR certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
  • Strong experience in employee relations, performance management, and leave administration (FMLA, medical, parental, short-term disability)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable partnering with leadership and staff at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (Dayforce experience a plus)

About the Job
  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to attorneys and professional staff, providing guidance on performance management, employee relations, and workplace concerns
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, with a primary emphasis on California regulations
  • Administer employee leave programs and support benefits, payroll, and timekeeping processes in collaboration with internal teams
  • Support the professional staff performance management and disciplinary processes
  • Prepare and manage employee documentation related to hiring, changes, and departures
  • Conduct exit interviews and new-hire follow-ups to support engagement and retention
  • Partner with HR leadership on firm-wide initiatives including compensation, DEI, policy development, talent management, and HRIS projects
  • Collaborate with office managers across firm locations to ensure consistent HR practices
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support additional HR projects as needed

This direct hire role will work out of the firm's Philadelphia office on a hybrid schedule and is paying up to 160k depending on experience.
