Digital Fraud Analyst

Location: Chicago, IL/ Hybrid
Duration: 4 months with possible extension

Best vs average candidate:
Experience with fraud monitoring, software and tools, Type, IP address, account take over, identity theft, transaction monitoring experience, banking will be an asset.

Position Overview:
The Digital Fraud Analyst plays a critical role in protecting Client and its clients from digital and transactional fraud.
Operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the Analyst is responsible for conducting moderate to complex research and analysis of online and mobile banking activity to identify, prevent, and mitigate suspicious or fraudulent behavior.

Key Responsibilities:
Prioritize alerts pertaining to Wire, ACH, Zelle, or other digital payments effectively in a high-volume environment, maintaining a strong focus on minimizing fraud losses and protecting the client experience.
Review digital applications for account openings for signs of potential synthetic fraud or identity theft.
Identify Fraud Types; recognize and mitigate risks related to Business Email Compromise, account takeover, or payments related to consumer scams, while remaining vigilant for other emerging fraud schemes.
Prepare thorough and accurate reports on fraud events, ensuring all findings are clearly documented in accordance with department standards.
Communicate professionally with clients who may be victims or suspects in fraud cases, gathering necessary information and providing support as appropriate.
Awareness of fraud trends, scams, and best practices to proactively identify potentially fraudulent activity.

Core Capabilities:
Demonstrated experience monitoring online and mobile banking activity for suspicious transactions.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize patterns and anomalies in client activity.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients in sensitive situations.
Critical thinking and sound judgment in prioritizing tasks and making decisions under pressure.

Must Have skills:
Experience monitoring online and mobile banking applications for fraud 2 years
Experience using fraud monitoring systems and alert management tools 2 years
Strong communications skills.

Nice to have skills:
Banking experience
Customer interaction or client facing experience
ACH payments experience

Call Note:
Must Have Skills
This is more focused on Payments and Transaction and fraud detection
reviewing , wire payments , transactions, ACH , Zelle and deposit ac applications
Digital footprint
Client Call interactions with Commercial and consumer banking
Theft and alert management
High volume of monthly payments
per day they will be handling min 10 -15 fraud cases
analyst mainly focus on escalations team and customer support agents
Monitoring tools like LexisNexis , TMX -Threat matrix etc.
Min 2-max 6
Business email comprise means - handling invoice emails from vendors or enquiry for payments email verification before payment and enquiry about email verifications on scams
Reporting tool -Excel
