We are currently seeking a Digital Asset Coordinator. This is a long term contracting position located in Vienna, VA. Candidates will work a hybrid schedule, onsite 2-3 days a week. Candidates must have at least 5 years of professional experience in the role as a digital asset coordinator. In addition, candidates must be able to pass both a criminal and credit background check. We are able to work with W2 and established IC’s/1099 contractors.
This role manages and optimizes the Digital Asset Management (DAM) ecosystem for a marketing creative team. It involves organizing, tagging, and maintaining digital assets (images, video, design files), ensuring proper metadata and governance, and supporting DAM system enhancements and migrations (e.g., to enterprise DAM platforms). The position serves as a subject matter expert, collaborates cross-functionally, supports users, and improves workflows to enhance asset discoverability, compliance, and operational efficiency.
We are looking for an experienced digital asset coordinator to manage, organize, update, edit, and archive all assets and ?les for the Marketing Creative Services team. Develop, support, and evolve the digital asset management system for client brands, including participation in DAM modernization and migration efforts (e.g., transition to enterprise DAM/EDAM platforms). Provide system support to users, ensure metadata and governance standards are followed across the organization, and maintain accurate tracking of asset usage and licensing. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment, initiative, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily management of the Digital Asset Management System (DAMs), including AEM and related asset platforms.
- Enhance discovery of digital assets by improving metadata, managing asset lifecycle, and supporting DAM system evolution projects.
- Act as subject matter expert for the digital asset management system, maintaining procedures, policies, and supporting process improvements.
- Coordinate and organize all assets and files for the Marketing Creative Services team, including photography, video, logos, design assets, and other projects.
- Serve as a point of contact for asset requests within the team and external vendors, ensuring smooth workflows and asset delivery.
- Assist with platform updates, workflow refinements, and migration activities; research opportunities for process improvements.
- Develop and maintain naming conventions and organization strategies for assets; ensure governance and proper workflow of content.
- Research and implement new tools or technologies to streamline asset management and system workflows.
- Experience overseeing digital catalogs or asset libraries (DAMs), including asset lifecycle management and metadata governance.
- Working knowledge of creative file formats (JPG, GIF, PNG, SVG, EPS) and file size optimization.
- Experience using online content management systems, especially Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
- Experience supporting or participating in DAM migration projects, including asset preparation, metadata alignment, and validation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, stakeholders, and vendors; build relationships with diplomacy and tact.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of client’s functions, systems, and organizational objectives.
- Proficiency in image editing software, color correction, photo retouching, and Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
- Strong organizational, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Information or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
