The Dietary Aide II Coffee Shop at Riverside Healthcare is responsible for providing excellent food service to coffee shop patrons. This role includes preparing menu items, portioning food, setting up and breaking down the coffee shop area, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The Dietary Aide II also ensures adherence to safety and sanitation standards, assists with stock and supplies, and may cross-train in other cafeteria and food service roles within the hospital. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.
Essential Duties
- Prepare and portion food items according to menu specifications for coffee shop patrons.
- Set up and break down the coffee shop for daily service, ensuring all equipment is clean and operational.
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Maintain cleanliness in the coffee shop by performing general cleaning tasks, including dishwashing and sanitation of food service areas.
- Stock supplies and materials needed for daily operations in the coffee shop.
- Follow department standards for safe and correct use of cleaning chemicals.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down the doctors dining room as needed.
- Cut and stock desserts in the dessert area and ensure proper rotation and replenishment of items.
- Cross-train in other cafeteria roles, such as cashier, dish room attendant, or patient food service, to support broader food service operations.
- Deliver and pick up food carts to and from patient care areas when necessary.
- Perform cleaning tasks in the pots and pans area and adhere to job flow standards for all assigned tasks.
- Operate the cash register and manage transactions efficiently.
Non-essential Duties
- Assist with additional tasks in the cafeteria or other food service areas when needed.
- Attend departmental meetings and training sessions to stay updated on food safety protocols and job duties.
Preferred Experience
- Ability to learn and perform a variety of tasks while on the job.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or hospitality food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with other staff members.
- Attention to detail in following food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, handle food carts, and perform cleaning tasks.
- Willingness to cross-train in various food service roles to support the team as needed.
Required Licensure/Education
- No formal licenses or certifications required.
