Position Summary: Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide supports the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals and snacks to residents in a long-term care setting. This role ensures that all food service functions are performed in a safe, sanitary, and efficient manner while maintaining high standards of customer service and resident satisfaction.


What You’ll Do:

  1. Support meal and snack preparation, service, and delivery
  2. Keep work areas, equipment, tables, and floors clean and sanitary
  3. Wash dishes and utensils; collect soiled items and store clean items properly
  4. Review meal trays for accuracy based on menus and diet orders
  5. Store raw and leftover food safely and correctly
  6. Follow all Universal Precautions, sanitation, safety, and infection-control procedures
  7. Work some weekends and holidays as part of the team rotation



What We’re Looking For:

  1. A patient, respectful, and upbeat attitude—especially when working with older adults and individuals with disabilities
  2. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
  3. Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  4. At least 18 years of age
  5. Reliable, dependable, and able to perform the essential functions of the role
