We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on fire apparatus and emergency vehicles. This role involves working on a wide range of diesel-powered equipment, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and specialty emergency systems in both shop and field environments.

Job Details
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and drivetrains
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services (PMs)
Repair and rebuild fire pumps, valves, piping, and water systems
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and aerial components
Perform 12-volt electrical diagnostics, repair, and replacement
Conduct brake, suspension, steering, and chassis repairs
Service HVAC and auxiliary vehicle systems as needed
Complete pump testing and operational checks
Perform on-site service calls using mobile service units when required
Accurately document repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements
Equipment & Vehicles Serviced
Fire pumpers, aerials, rescues, tankers, and ambulances
UTVs and specialty emergency vehicles
Diesel engines, fire pumps, hydraulic and electrical systems
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
Experience working on fire apparatus or emergency vehicles preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
EVT certification or willingness to obtain preferred
Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
