Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician

Aaron’s Towing & Heavy Hauling is currently seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a motivated professional with hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty diesel equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on fleet vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment in both shop and field environments

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems

  • Troubleshoot issues on equipment including Kenworth tractors, Freightliner M2 trucks, medium-duty trucks, trailers, and skid steers

  • Maintain accurate and detailed service records for all work performed

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment

  • Communicate effectively regarding repair needs, timelines, and equipment status

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in diesel, truck, or heavy equipment repair

  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively 

  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening

  • Strong work ethic with reliability and punctuality

  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and team-focused

  • Must possess own tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Welding experience

  • Class A CDL (or ability to obtain)

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
