Diesel Mechanic- Heavy Duty Construction Equipment

Our Client, a well-established underground utility construction company, is seeking an entry to mid-level, dependable, and detail oriented Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join their team.
This individual will provide quality preventative maintenance and repair services on a variety of models of Heavy-Duty Diesel trucks and construction equipment.
Qualifications:
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy construction equipment and heavy-duty trucks or completed a related diesel mechanic degree/certificate
• Experience or training with computer diagnostics plus basic computer skills
• Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background knowledge of various gas and diesel engines
• Good understanding of DOT regulations regarding maintenance practices
• Valid Driver’s license with safe driving record – MVR will be reviewed. Class A CDL preferred OR willing and able to obtain CDL upon hire
• Able to stand, kneel, climb, bend and lift up to 50lbs. unassisted throughout a shift
• Own tools preferred

Responsibilities
• Inspect, maintain, repair, and test heavy duty construction equipment and company vehicles (trucks, trailers, bulldozers, graders, excavators, and other equipment)
• Utilizing specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to identify malfunctions, perform repairs, and ensure optimal equipment performance
• Service complex hydraulic, electrical, braking, and steering systems
• Test-driving vehicles or operating equipment to verify repairs and ensure proper, safe performance.
• Complete service records, inspection reports, and document all repairs and services
• Ensure all work complies with DOT regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies

Schedule and Benefit Overview
• Hourly position. Wage based on experience
• Typically schedule Monday – Friday 7:00am -4:00pm
• Ability to work overtime hours when required and occasional weekends
• Staying out of town when the project requires it. Company pays lodging if out of town
• Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance coverage is available after 90 days of service
• Company paid Life Insurance; 401K with Company Match offered upon eligibility
• Vacation, Sick Leave, and Holiday Pay offered
