Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Die Set-Up Technician to support our production operations in a fast-paced metals manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for installing, aligning, and removing dies and tooling on production equipment to ensure efficient and accurate metal forming processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and install dies on stamping presses, forging machines, or other metal forming equipment according to production schedules and specifications.
  • Ensure proper alignment, fit, and function of dies and tooling before releasing equipment for production.
  • Perform die changes, adjustments, and minor repairs as needed to maintain production flow.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot die-related issues and minimize downtime.
  • Inspect dies and tooling for wear or damage and report findings to the Tooling or Maintenance department.
  • Maintain accurate records of die setups, changes, and maintenance activities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and ensure proper handling and storage of dies and tooling.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training in manufacturing or machining preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in die setup or tooling in a metals manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with metal forming equipment such as stamping presses, forging hammers, or hydraulic presses.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, hoists, and precision measuring instruments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with progressive or transfer dies.
  • Forklift or crane operation certification.
  • Basic knowledge of die maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S practices.
